Natives in the theatre:

After the run on site in Pendrecht the performance has been adapted to tour the theaters. Natives in the theatre is a continuation of Natives on site. On site there was the illusion, in the theatre there is the reality: a portrait of the last months of a working-class quarter just before the big renewal.

Lex Bohlmeijer interviewed neighbours on life in their quarter and the arrival of Wunderbaum. What are the crisisfantasies of the actors in proportion to the real crisis of the inhabitants? A combination of interviews-made-into-theatre-texts and popularized videofragments.

Natives on site:
In an apartment building that is due for demolition in the district Rotterdam-Zuid, Wunderbaum represents the effects of the crisis. But is this crisis actually a reality? Is the world really going down the drain or do we talk ourselves into it? How will we behave when we are afflicted by disasters that go beyond our imagination?

Natives is rampant, social and physical music theatre about a deteriorating fantasy world, and the pain of feeling uprooted. About the taste of horsemeat, the urge to reproduce and a metro in heavy fog.
